Parents, now’s the time to let each other off the hook!
Thousands of other parents have joined The Kids Party Pact. But, there are thousands more who still feel the pressure to fork out for a brand new gift for every party, and think plastic-filled party bags are the done thing.
Feel nervous to share? Reframe it in your mind…
Sharing the Pact is a kindness.
- It’s kind to remove the financial pressure of each other.
- It’s kind to remove some mental load and anxiety.
- It’s kind to yourself to avoid unwanted clutter.
- It’s kind to your kids to teach them that joy doesn’t come from stuff.
- It’s kind to the planet to reduce consumption.
When you think of sharing the Kids Party Pact as an act of kindness…suddenly it feels a whole lot easier to do.
Here’s how you can share as we head back to school (before the invites start arriving!)

- Share your own post about why you’ve signed the Pact (you can use one of our template images from here).
Example wording (you can copy):
- I’m letting other parents off the hook…as it’s the start of the new school year I wanted to share that I’ve joined the Kids Party Pact! It’s a movement of thousands of parents who want to normalise more affordable, less wasteful gifting. So, this year we’ll be giving gift guidance on party invites, and avoiding giving brand new and plastic presents. Want to join me? Check out @no.crap.parties and join the Pact too 🥳

Your parent friends, the class and PTA groups…and any of the random groups that parenthood has pulled you into!
Tip for making this feel easier to do: get a co-conspirator!
DM a friend who you know is on the same page, and get them lined up to respond straight away in the group. That way you know you’ll avoid tumbleweed…and others will feel more confident to speak up in agreement.

The idea is just to agree on more planet and pocket friendly gifts for parties so no one feels pressure and the kids don’t end up with mountains of stuff (that we then spend our lives tidying!). Share with the PTA, your nursery, school or playgroup
The goal is to get them to share something about the Kids Party Pact with other parents – they are the trusted messenger!
Send the message below, with a flyer (download here) which they can share.

The idea is to let each other off the hook when it comes to the pressure around birthday party presents.
